We make big, bold works with textiles and other materials and with beautifully made details.
Our work is full of contrasts, contrasts in terms of color, use of materials, details, or crudely done. The basic attitude is subversive, in practice often loving, and we don’t see that as a contrast! It is about the power, the conviction while doing, making.
Various techniques mixed together
We were both raised with textiles from childhood. Perhaps precisely because of that, in our already quite long artistic careers we have only worked with textiles sideways. Since about 2 years, that is suddenly where the focus has been for each of us. We use all kinds of techniques interchangeably and in unusual ways.
We see that textiles are very much in the picture these days, but the use of the discipline, the techniques, quite often stays close to the traditional way of using the material.
