Greet Weitenberg

In her search for her ultimate world, Greet Weitenberg has arrived at a colorful world of textiles. She wants to give the softness of yarn, wool, the ultimate leading role in her ongoing project Welcome To My Happy World. This world of soft, organic shapes in cheerful colors is shown in her textile works. She is inspired by nature, her garden, flowers, underground/aboveground, invisible/visible. Textiles take on the role of narrator with her, bringing nuances to the harsh, polarized outside world. She prefers large works that show this softness with conviction.

Marja van Putten

Marja van Putten calls her paintings and objects starring textiles femmeBRUT and delves into the combination of paint and textiles. She works alternately coarse and refined with a fine brush or broom, uses small sequins or large rags with frays in props on the canvas, often prepared with the longarm machine. These are abstract monumental images with contrasting details and an alienating use of materials. Her references are painting and textile techniques as she knows them from her childhood. In her latest work, her canvas has become 3D and features hanging and standing objects.
